Beyond the glare of neon lights, beneath the rich shadows of L.A.'s fetish underworld, a small splinter opens into the fabric of darkness.  Peer through the crack and let yourself fall down, down, into The Underground where sweet agonies whisper dark secrets in you ear.  Listen to the sound of the whip lashing the air.  Feel the sting of pleasure's passion-pain burn inside you.  See obscure beauties dressed in leather clawing feathers of blood in flesh and spinning cobwebs of seduction.  Watch horned demi-gods with razor-teeth, shiny metal piercings and tattooed flesh morphing into dark landscapes of sinister beauty.  Here, even the walls moan and weep with passion, pleasure and pain.  Submit to the temptation.  Give into the seduction.  Wrap your senses around the lush dark ravishes of Christine Kessler's visions in The Underground.

Batman and Miss Niki

Christine Kessler has had the pleasure of working with many bewitching and enchanting beauties since she embraced her passion to become a photographer in 1985.

Lola and Princess

"I am deeply satisfied by my fine art work which tends to have a dark feel to it, but I also greatly enjoy doing fashion and beauty shots.  I like to think, though, that even those photos are a little out of the ordinary. . ."

When she first entered the realm of SM and piercing photography, she met Bud Cockerham
who became one her favorite models.

Bud is the devil

"We haven't shot much lately, but we used to have a really great time.  He was such an interesting character to explore (and an all around great guy, shucks...)"

Since then, Christine has done photo shoots with Mistress Ilsa Strix, a professional Los Angeles dominatrix and Miss Niki, a beautiful submissive.

"Ilsa and I have planned some more extensive shooting in the near future.  She is so passionate about SM, and about photography.  She's been
very supportive of our work together. "

"The lovely Miss Niki is truly a joy to work with, so much fun, willing to do just about anything, and she just loves to be in front of the camera..."

Christine uses creative lighting in her images to evoke a chiaroscuro mood and atmosphere.  Because of this she usually prefers working in a controlled studio where she has creative control over the elements.

"I've experienced shooting in all sorts of situations, outdoors, in nightclubs, on location, etc.  But, you just don't have that kind of power over the sun.  Another consideration is climate control, music, and the other perks that allow you to keep the models happy."

Patti

Christine is the daughter of a Romanian photojournalist, so photography was second nature to her.  She has studied formally in photography as well as learning considerably through her own experiences as a photographer.

"I must admit that I am a horrible photo-snob and I dislike a lot of the photography I see out there.  However, that is likely due to the huge number of photographers working.  When I do see images that I like, they really move me.  For instance, I love the work of Floria Sigismondi, it is just stunning."

Christine has taken her talents into the world of multi-media to design websites and graphics. She has been shooting for an upcoming independent film called Angels in addition to some album cover projects.  She is an avid reader, tattoo collector, and she loves to cook.

Dogboy

Christine's work has been published in by Modern Lounge, PFIQ, Drummer, and Hustler's Taboo.  Two samples of her work will be appearing in the new SECRET Fetish Photo Anthology V3.  She dreams of the day when her photography will become lucrative enough to pursue it on a full-time basis.

Jen in the web

"I guess you'd call it (my work) semi-pro.  I shoot for my portfolio as well as for editorial and
commercial assignments, but at this point, I'm still subsidizing my photo income with other work.  Really, I am looking forward to a time when doing things I enjoy, such as photography."
