Welcome back for another issue of Fetish Delicacies. I have returned as this feature's columnist after a brief time of soul-searching and am happy to be writing once again. This issue I am exploring a smaller topic within a very large one. That larger, more well- known practice is the ages old fetish of submission and domin- ation. The sub-fetish of that, if you will, is the transformation through clothing and accessories of the submissive into an animal.

Two of the most common manifestations of this are pony boys/girls and doggie boys/girls. An ever-increasing amount of BDSM sites on the web are featuring pictures and stories articulating this practice. I first became enthralled with this concept as I read Anne Rice's exquisite novel, Beauty's Punishment. Many of you, I am certain, have read this along with the other two books in that glorious trilogy and were aroused at the thought of delectable young slaves being transformed into beasts of burden, walking on all fours and wearing specially made bridles and horse shoes. I read with delight passages describing such things as the slaves being fed in the backyard, lapping red wine from a dish and being groomed and bathed as if they were pets.

These images and thoughts are not only the stuff of novels and stories, however. There are plenty of real, live pony girls and boys in this world, as well as those who are made to behave as canines before their masters and mistresses. I will be focusing on how submissive females are used as ponies and doggies in this article. We will learn about the motivations that have led one such woman, slave Maliia, to please her mistresses as a pony once and as a doggie several times. We will also hear from a long-time expert on the subject, Sir Michael, about his experiences and views as a Master and trainer of ponygirls.

PonyGirls

Being a pony girl might be considered something of a treat for many submissives. Especially in those cases in which the focus is on the pony as a beautiful show animal, decked out with jewelry and feathered headdresses. The ponygirl prances proudly, lifting her knees high as she steps, her trim waist twisting gently and breasts bouncing lightly to the delight of those watching and of her mistress. A riding crop or whip is typically kept closely by with which to discipline the pony should she get a little 'too' proud.

Another manifestation is the working ponygirl, who is used to pull a cart or in some cases a carriage with one or more passengers. On occasion, a team of these submissive women will be harnessed, rubber

bits in their mouths and reins in the hands of their master or mistress to pull larger burdens. Some are even saddled and ridden. There are a variety of pieces of equipment available to the potential pony girl and her master or mistress. Many have been mentioned already such as saddles, reins, bridles, rubber and metal bits which are tight-fitting, forcing the pony to bite them. Also available, though apparently more rare are hoof boots and gloves. Most of the ponygirls I have seen in my Internet travels have stood upright, but the hoof gloves add another dimension of realism to the ponygirl's appearance.

Many ponygirls wear high heeled leather boots or pumps to simulate hooves, but specially made hoof boots are available which truly look like hooves right down to the real horseshoes on the bottom! Another common accessory is a tail which, just as it is depicted in the Anne Rice novels, is attached to a phallus and inserted in the submissive's bottomhole.

Interview with Sir Michael

Sir Michael Kraft is the owner of a beautiful slave girl named dina. Their relationship is excellently chronicled at Sir Michael's Place. One of their favorite forms of bondage play is dina as a pony, so when Sir Michael offered to speak with me about his thoughts and feelings on the topic, I was extremely honored to accept. Here is the product of our email discussion.

Twilight: What is it about slaves as ponies that really appeals to you?

Sir Michael: It's bondage in motion. Seems like a contradiction, right? I mean, bondage is supposed to anchor you in place, hogtied on the floor, or spread-eagled to the bed. Ponygirls are placed into a very strict harness, which is a form of bondage. They can't move freely, but here's the catch: they CAN move. And therein lies the fun. Now, my bound beauty can be controlled to move the way I want her to. The fantasy then progresses to training her to respond to my commands with appropriate movements, and finally, she is pulling a cart all over my estate whenever I'm in the mood for a trip outdoors.

Twilight: Describe your first experience training a pony. Was it something you had planned and thought out for a long time or was it more spontaneous?

Sir Michael: As with so many other people I have met, my first experience was purely mental. I read a story, or saw a photograph, or viewed a video. But once you are exposed to the concept, you are hooked (if you're like me). That can still be a long way from harnessing your first pony. I was alone, in the days before the Internet, before BDSM organizations began to blossom, but I managed to create a beautiful ponygirl harness for my slavegirl, dina.

When I first strapped her into the harness, with the rubber bit between her teeth, she was radiant! We didn't have the chance to play outdoors back then, and kept things pretty much under wraps, but even in our limited space indoors, it was the incredibly fun.

Twilight: Which types of pony accessories do you and/or dina find most erotic and sensual?

Sir Michael: A large part of the allure of the ponygirl, and one that is easily overlooked, is the PROCESS of dressing the ponygirl. It takes a long time to get all the pieces put on properly, with buckles cinched tight. The harness doesn't just fit on in one movement, but gradually takes shape with each new part, and gradually tightens as each buckle is pulled tight. For the ponygirl, this is a wonderful experience, feeling the harness gradually envelop her body in its tight grip. For the trainer, it's a visual and mental experience of realizing that the lovely creature before you is becoming ever more under your control with each additional strap.

As to individual parts of the harness, we both enjoy the butt plug attached to a real horsehair tail, and of course, the shiny, stainless steel bit between her teeth. Perhaps dina's favorite sensation is being laced into something really tight, so she enjoys the corset that forms the waist belt of the harness.

Twilight: I notice from your site that girls have sought you out to be their master and occasionally they are made into ponies. Are there certain things you look for in a slave that will make them better (or worse) ponies?

Sir Michael: I think most slavegirls would make fine ponies. It's a matter of desire. Some really want to try it, from the moment they are first exposed to the idea. Others initially find it unpalatable, but later come around a beg to be allowed to pull a cart. Then there are those who honestly don't know what to think, but are willing to give anything a try. The key is WANTING to please. If she wants to pull the cart as a proud pony, she is going to learn the proper postures, the correct responses and everything else she needs. But first, and above everything else, she really must WANT it. (Of course, none of that matters in those fantasy novels where consent is not part of the storyline.)

Doggies

Being a dog owner myself, I was especially intrigued when I read about submissives being made to play the role of doggies. The role as you may expect, involves the sub being at the end of a leash at the very least with additional canine themes being added in direct relation to the dominant's creativity. Some activities include being fed out of dishes on the floor, being swatted with a rolled-up paper, being made to urinate or defecate outdoors, being walked and of course no talking is allowed. After all, dogs can't talk. Barking, whining or growling are of course acceptable at the proper time.

Interview with slave Maliia

Maliia operates her own web site in which she features free erotic pictures, stories and more. She is a native Hawaiian and a submissive who has been disciplined once as a pony girl and several times as a doggie girl. She was kind enough to grant me an interview about these experiences via email. What follows is our conversation in its original form, uncut and unedited.

Twilight: I know the idea behind being a submissive is, to some extent, to be enslaved and controlled by another but does being an animal set you free to no longer care about your dignity and focus on the pleasure of the moment? (For example, being let outside to pee was at first embarrassing but you then said it was arousing). If so, does it make you feel more uninhibited than other submissive practices?

Maliia: I tink that bein treated like an animal makes me focus on my dignity, or lack thereof. Its the burning humiliation of bein treated as a lowly animal that has no dignity that is the paradox that hits me. Obviously, bein totally controlled in everyway is very excitin, and certainly leaves me ta just focus on my role, but in doin so, i still remember that im not an animal, that makes it all the more humiliatin. The example of me bein made ta pee in the yard was very embarassin, and it was coz it was sometin an animal would do instictively, but because im not an animal like that, and im used ta a different societal norm, i find it ta be humiliatin, and for me, humiliation equals arousal in many cases.

Twilight: You have been both a pony girl and a doggie girl for your various mistresses. Do you prefer one over the other? If so, which one and why?

Maliia: i was only really a pony girl once, and i just totally loved it. i go inta a lotta detail on my website about that experience, but ive been a doggie girl many times, and loved each one. The pony experience was far more exhileratin than some of my doggie experiences, but that may have more ta do with that it was brand new experience for me than anytin. Its hard then for me ta say which i like better, or even if i could. its two different experiences rooted in the same type of play. One is the role of the obedient companion animal, the other i tink is the graceful show animal. ill let ya figure out which is which.

Twilight: Beyond your first doggie experience about which you wrote on your site, are there any other brief doggie anecdotes you wish to share with our readers which have happened since then?

Maliia: as i say above, ive had a few doggie experiences, some for a few hours, a couple for a whole weekend. I havent had a chance ta talk about many of those experiences on my website, but as time permits, i will add lots of detail about those and other experiences. Eventually i hope ta have a little information bout all those experiences on my site for people ta read.

Twilight: What are some of the accessories you have worn or seen worn to further establish your or another sub's appearance as an animal. For example, I know you wore a bridle as a pony girl and a collar as a doggie. Have you seen more elaborate accessories used to help subs play the role?

Maliia: well, i describe pretty well the equipment i was in when i was a pony. ive seen more elaborate harnesses and reins and tack used too before. As a doggie, ive had everytin on me from a simple collar and leash, ta havin a tail in my rear, wooden balls strapped ta my feet, and a ring gag in my mouth with my tongue clamped and chained so that it looked like i was pantin alla time. i tink that a lotta it had ta do with how long the play would be for. Sometime a short little ting at a party or at home we just play with the leash, but other times more stuff is used. Ive also been leashed by my labia rings, though i dont do that very often coz it has ta be done carefully.

Twilight: This one is a little weird, but I had to ask it. Have you or any other subs that you know of been asked to interact with real animals by your masters/mistresses as part of your submissive animal experience? If so, could you describe what that interaction involved?

Maliia: i personally dont like beastiality. the idea of bein with an animal completely and totally turns me off and i have no desire ta do it or even fantasize about it or even hear about it. Thats just me though, and yes i did know a girl a while back who mistress made her be with German shepards i tink, but it didnt interest me even ta hear about. this is not a subject that i have any interest in discussin further.
