How dare you haughtily hobble past me,
Like flowers will blossom from your carcass
As it putrefies in the searing sun?
You think you’re superior to me,
Don’t you?
You think you are crafted from quality
And I am the matted, festering, flesh in your tire treads.
…With your tightened tastes and Tupperware torso…
You think you can devour all I hold dear,
Including my knight?
…With your limited language and hand-crafted visage…
You can’t surgically saw me from every stitch of my
own sanity.
You see—
My knight batters through the forest of my dingy darkness
And locates that speck of luminosity.
He loves that light
(like you wish you could taste),
Until it swells.
The light expands like halogen high beams squared,
Then shoots from the patent leather lips of this Gothic
Princess,
Like the sting of a thousand hornets.
I’ll spray you down
Mabelline Queen,
And reveal the nakedness of your true soul.
Female dog, I’ll cut you down
Like the endless weed you are
That threatens to choke the ultimate treasure—
An Ebony Rose!
I’ll blast the blood from your fangs,
And clean my nails of your existence,
Until the final fact is faced—
Despite your attachments,
You are ordinary,
And I am all but…
Kara Rimmer is a writer of fiction—mostly sci-fi,
horror, fantasy, and anime. She is also a hard rock
musician/vocalist and photographer. Kara has several
movies and novels she’s shopping around via agent.
Born and raised Wiccan, she is in her mid-twenties and she
is originally from Georgia. Kara has been writing
for about 15 years, and her major influence is her mother—Goddess
